Leaf Peeper's Festival

Leaf Peeper's Festival is one of the most anticipated events of the year in Tucker County. Fall is a special time with the arrival of perfect weather and color change in the forest canopy. The last full weekend every September the town of Davis, West Virginia comes alive for three days of fun and comradery. Enjoy custom crafts to locally made craft ales in an outdoor setting along the beautiful Blackwater River. Davis is a small town of 650 residents that has the feel and look of a classic 120 year old mountain town at an elevation of 3,200 feet in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. Come celebrate the 2019 Leaf Peepers Festivalwith us September 27th through and 29th.

Indoor Craft Show

Stop in the Davis Volunteer Fire Department Fire Hall for the Leaf Peepers Festival Custom Craft Show. Crafters have been hand selected for authenticity and duplicate free vendors from around Appalachia. The show is so popular that spaces sell out a year in advance! Doors open early Saturday morning and do not close until late Sunday afternoon.

Live Music and Talent Show

Get in the groove starting Friday evening before Davis’s Firemen’s Parade with Nat Frederick. A professional stage and sound engineer are brought in to assure only the finest entertainment over two days. Saturday morning begins with the annual appearance of the Sugar Foot Stompers to get everyone in the mood before racing in the Run For It 5k event. The Talent Show is a salute to the creative abilities found locally or regionally on Saturday afternoon. The talent show is open to all.

Run For It 5k Run and 2k Walk

Over a thousand participants came out every year to raise money for their chosen charities. The course is set throughout town for a spectator friendly race whether you are a competitive racer or casual enthusiast. Nearly 100,000 dollars is distributed to charities every year through the Tucker County Foundation. If you want a piece of the pie, you need to build a team and then run for it!

Car Show

Sunday morning brings the Leaf Peepers Car show. All the outdoor vendors clear out to make way for an ever growing classic car show. The quality of cars are outstanding, we promise you will be surprised by some of the classics that make it up the mountain to Davis. If you happen to own one of these beauties and are interested in participating, sign up today by calling the Tucker County Information Center.

Inflatable Rides

There is something for everyone during the Leaf Peepers Festival. From Friday through Sunday young children are entertained with several inflatable rides. Get the energy out in the bounce house or race each other up the climbing wall and then down a 15 foot tall slide. From morning to night, family time starts here.

Food Vendors

Almost a dozen food vendors are set up on both sides of Rt. 32, filling the air with delicious aromas. Bring your appetite, there is not a bad one out there. Some of the classic musts are Tucker County Rotary’s chicken, fresh kettle corn, and any number of food trucks. We will let you be the judge of this though.

Outdoor Vendors

Mill around for hours looking at various vendors set up all around the festival grounds. Custom goods from t-shirts, to metal works, to kitchen ware are for sale. This is a Saturday only event so plan accordingly and bring a pile of cash.

Craft Beer and Mead

Underneath the Octoberfest tent local breweries show off their craft. Choose from several different varieties of beer brought to you by Mountain State Brewing and Stumptown Ales. Healthberry Farm sets up under the tent with mead painstakingly made from locally sourced honey just down the road from Davis in Dry Fork, WV. This ancient wine is a rarity. Tastings are available as well as purchase.
