Scenic view of the valley

A magical time in Tucker Co. as everyone anticipates the fall foliage change.  Fall comes early, expect peak times between the final week of September into early October.  The color canvas is uninterrupted along mountainsides and river valleys.  Photographer from all over the country have taken note of the vibrant and diverse colors found in Tucker Co., they flock here this time of the year.

The most popular events of the year is the Fall, Leaf Peeper’s Festival and Run For It 5k charitable run/walk race.  Leaf Peeper’s is a three day event, the Run For It is part of the festival weekend and is run on Saturday.  Craft shows, live music, inflatable rides, and food vendors make up the good times.

Late summer into early fall is often very dry, in a place that is notoriously wet.  Many of us consider this our favorite time of the year.

Late fall leading into Thanksgiving is a popular time for hunters, as hunting season is now wide open.
