Canaan Valley Resort

Family Trail Days, May 7th

Guided 8 mile hike through Canaan Mountain beginning at Blackwater Falls State Park and ending at Canaan Valley Resort State Park. Shuttle service/lunch included in registration, pre-registration strongly encouraged.

Wine Spring Fling, May 13-15th

This weekend kicks starts the summer season for Timberline Resort.  The opening of scenic chairlift rides, downhill mountain biking and horseback riding.

Blackwater Falls State Park

50th Annual Wildflower Pilgrimage, May 5-8th

An interpretive weekend packed with bird walks, wildflower tours, nature programs, craft exhibits and sales.  Advanced reservation required.  Annual event is co-sponsored by WV Federation of Garden Clubs and WVDNR.  Contact:  304-558-2754

Art Event

ARTSPRING…A Memorial Day Art Tour, May 28-29th

On Memorial Day Weekend, 2011, join us for a tour of art galleries and studios including The Studio Gallery, WV Highlands Artisans Gallery, Mountainmade, The White Room, Bens Old Loom Barn, and the Heritage House.  Live music and working artisans at each venue coupled with student art displays at many participating businesses will keep your weekend full.  The event will close on Sunday the 29th with a live art auction at The Opera House Lobby with proceeds going to support the STart program, bringing better art programming to our schools.
