Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge
10am, at the Refuge Visitor Center. Join our energetic group of Garden Tenders for 30 minutes, an hour, or more! Bring your ideas, supplies, tools, and/or labor on these regularly scheduled work days, weather permitting. If weather prevents work on Friday, alternate work day is Saturday, April 6, 10 am.
9am-1pm at the Refuge Visitors Center. Are you looking for a way to include fun engaging activities about wild birds into curriculum for middle school aged students? Flying WILD training might be just what you need! This FREE workshop will be held at the Refuge Visitor Center. 10am at the Refuge Visitor Center. Join us as we read a book and talk about owls. Visit the new interactive touch table fun for kids and adults alike. This monthly program is appropriate for pre-schoolers and their adult guardians. Storytime is free of charge and is hosted by the Refuge and the Friends of the 500th. During the school year, there is no Storytime if there is no school.
7am meet at Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center. Find out what kind of feathered visitors are making their annual appearance at the Refuge. Find out who’s emerging bright and beautiful from the winter or just passing through to other destinations. Bring your binoculars–or borrow ours–and come along this walk.

7pm at the Refuge Visitor Center. Canaan Valley NWR’s Deputy Refuge Manager Richard Zane will present this program on his career experiences with various US Fish and Wildlife Service programs and projects.
9am, meet at the Refuge Visitor Center. Learn why we are restoring red spruce in our forest and than help us plant trees. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water and gloves, if desired.
